Another technological advance to make things just that much easier/lazier. I myself am usually annoyed if i know ive left something on downstairs and im drifting into sleep, and what wins in that situation? Fuck it, just leave it on and fall asleep, turn it off later. With this device these situations will no longer be a hassle, if you’re a napper/if you’re forgetful and are always leaving things turned on when you leave. Although only available in the USA & Canada at the moment as they are still in the early stages, i hope this comes to the UK.

Elphi is a “smart plug” that works with iPhones and Android-powered smartphones. The plug can be used to monitor and control all of the things you plug into your wall sockets. To use it, all you need to do is install the accompanying app on your phone and a Wi-Fi connection.

Just fire up the app to turn lights on and off and to receive updates and push notifications of the power statuses of your appliances. You can even share Elphi plugs with friends and allow them to monitor or control items plugged in.

Remove does just what it says, removing things selectively from your photo’s. You point your phone at your subject and hold it there for a few seconds before snapping your photo. Thus, the app now has a still image, plus many extra frames which — when combined — contain all of the background data. 

The app is being billed as the world’s first object removal software for mobile devices, unfortunately though at this time, the app is for android phone’s only with no real news on when or whether at all it will come to iPhone… dicks!
