Selling my imaginary friend

After 19 years of fun and friendship i am unfortunately selling my best friend, Brent. A lot of you haven’t met or seen Brent as he doesn’t like to speak to anyone but me and he’s invisible. We have always been great friends but recently he has been getting jealous of me hanging out with other people so after a lengthy discussion he is going to a new friend. Pokemon are serious business and we’re lucky to have dedicated artistic professionals like RJ to portray their true anatomies, backed up by science: Bulbasaur isnt a frog, you silly cartoonists, he’s got “SAUR” in his name, and if you’re familiar with these things we call dinosaurs, you’ll know that means big fuggin’ lizard. RJ’s depictions place most of the pokemon somewhere in the Permian to late Triassic, with Pokemon Trainers used as scale (though whether Pokemon Trainers existed in Prehistory is debatable).

TV Shows - The Newsroom

HBO seem to be at the forefront of making television what it should be. Television shows that stand beside films such as ‘Game Of Thrones’, ‘Boardwalk Empire’ and even ‘Band Of Brothers’. Bringing big screen talent to daytime shows. The Newsroom is no different, with a cast consisting of Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Alison Pill and Dev Patel and only one episode being aired in the US so far this was one of the best shows that I’ve seen in a while.

These days I usually find myself watching a new show, thinking to myself “Errr its OK” but still watch further episodes hoping that it will get better, this is rarely the case. The Newsroom, created by Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network/The West Wing/A Few Good Men) is a show definitely worth a watch if you’re looking for a new series to get into over the summer. But don’t take my word for it, if you’re in the US watch the first episode of the show here fo freee: The Newsroom - Episode 1 (Pilot). Unfortunately for us in the UK and everywhere else we’ll just have to wait a while or just simply find another way of watching it.

Another technological advance to make things just that much easier/lazier. I myself am usually annoyed if i know ive left something on downstairs and im drifting into sleep, and what wins in that situation? Fuck it, just leave it on and fall asleep, turn it off later. With this device these situations will no longer be a hassle, if you’re a napper/if you’re forgetful and are always leaving things turned on when you leave. Although only available in the USA & Canada at the moment as they are still in the early stages, i hope this comes to the UK.

Elphi is a “smart plug” that works with iPhones and Android-powered smartphones. The plug can be used to monitor and control all of the things you plug into your wall sockets. To use it, all you need to do is install the accompanying app on your phone and a Wi-Fi connection.

Just fire up the app to turn lights on and off and to receive updates and push notifications of the power statuses of your appliances. You can even share Elphi plugs with friends and allow them to monitor or control items plugged in.

Body Bakery: Bread imitating Gore by Kittiwat Unarrom

This brings weird to a whole new level. Thai Fine Art student and artist Kittiwat Unarrom is the son of a baker. All that baking exposure growing up has been a clear influence, but his artistic need to see things a little differently definitely flared up as he created the tacitly named “Body Bakery” – brutally, gruesomely, almost unbelievably realistic looking sculptures of dismembered human body parts sculpted entirely from bread.

With a master in Fine Arts Kittiwat Unarrom creates sculpture in bread. Not just normal sculpture but horror, dark art, gore, something I don’t know if I could actually eat. Located in Ratchaburi, Thailand Kittiwat creates feet, hands, heads, and internal organs among other body parts all entirely edible and for sale at his family’s bakery. He skillfully paints each piece to look terrifying to the observer/customer.

Whether you’re one of the many students that will be moving into a new place this July, and thinking of sprucing up the new place or just an epic gamer you’ll enjoy these in your life. Cushions at the moment include GameBoy (original), SNES + Controller, NES Controller and even a shiny Famicom controller all going for £37 plus a little for postage. Apart from obviously spelling colour wrong, ive finally found some good new music. From doing original tracks like this, they have remixed such bands as Toronto’s Metric, Diana Vickers, The Temper Trap, Mike Posner and even Brand New. The title says it all. Being a film student in my second year i though it was about time I got a filming camera of my own, and having done a few video’s over the past few months i thought id find a more professional place to store all of my own work and not just bung it on youtube. Nothing too serious, just a bunch of home movie style videos filmed with my new GoPro.

Nearly all the videos at some point include slow motion because i fuckin love it! For best quality watch all on Vimeo. The video shown above was the fourth in a set of four video’s taken while i was back in my home town of Norwich (capital of incest). To put ‘Swordingo’ simply, just imagine if ‘Zelda’ had been made my a different company altogether back in the 90’s and released as a playstation one title. When playing you can see influences of many other classics too such as Metroid, Croc, Pandemonium and even Super Mario Bros.

But the best thing of all, its free for a very short time, download ASAP, and if you dont like it, fuck it, you didn’t pay for that shit. But if you are reading this post a little late, it should be back up to its normal price of around £2.

Remove does just what it says, removing things selectively from your photo’s. You point your phone at your subject and hold it there for a few seconds before snapping your photo. Thus, the app now has a still image, plus many extra frames which — when combined — contain all of the background data.

The app is being billed as the world’s first object removal software for mobile devices, unfortunately though at this time, the app is for android phone’s only with no real news on when or whether at all it will come to iPhone… dicks!

Bloody genius! In a campaign designed by the seoul branch of advertising agency cheil, tesco homeplus supermarket opened last fall a virtual grocery store in a South Korean subway station, permitting users to shop using their smartphones. The strategy makes productive use of commuters’ waiting time, while simultaneously saving shoppers time spent going to the supermarket. Since the campaign started Tesco’s has become #1 in online grocery shopping.

A large, wall-length billboard was installed in the station, designed to look like a series of supermarket shelves and displaying images and prices of a range of common products. each sign also includes a QR code. Users scan the code of any product they would like to purchase, thereby adding it to their online shopping cart. After the web transaction is completed, the products are delivered to the user’s home within the day.
